August 2011 – Midlands Family History Day
The first Saturday in August was spent on the Wiltshire Family History Society (WFHS) stall with my father John Hurley at the Midlands Family History day. This was held at the Warriors Rugby Club, Worcester with views across the pitch and on towards Worcester.
My father had packed up his car with the Wiltshire books CD’s, posters etc and came to stay so we travelled together. The venue was excellent in many ways including its location, although the lifts were a bit slow.
No new “Peapell” leads but I made contact again with Jonathan Badham from Gwent and talked about looking for new leads in finding “Fanny Richards”. I dropped in on the One Name Guild stand for a chat and at other stalls bought some postcards and more books. I even found some time to help out on the WFHS stall!
I met one someone looking at Osman (or Wosman and various other spellings) in Chisledon/ Wroughton. They are related to the other side of my mother’s family (Webbs & Romans) so to be followed up at some stage.
